I think it’s time that we stop isolating ourselves from the world and start interacting with it to transform the world with his Grace.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
The best Christmas presents aren’t found in the latest gadgets, the trendy clothes, or the dollar bills. Whatever I asked for this year doesn’t compare to the gift I was already given. It’s so easy to get caught up in the possessions and presents, but it’s important not to forget the real reason for the holiday celebration. Jesus was and still is God’s precious gift to us, unasked and undeserved. While I am beyond grateful for the wonderful things my family and friends gave me this year, I am even more so humbled and thankful for the greatest gift of all. Thanks God.
Just FYI, the Westboro Baptist Church is a cult and not an accurate representation of Jesus Christ, the Gospel or Christianity.
I can’t help but wonder that if there was more love and God’s love in someone’s life, the tragedies from this past year could have been prevented.
My heart is heavy and it hurts so much for the innocent victims and the families whose lives were shattered. But I’m also hurting for the offenders, the murderers.
Now, I am in no way defending these terrorist, but I can’t help but wonder that if they were shown God’s love, if they had someone who was an example of that in their lives, the outcome would be different.
As Christians, we have a responsibility to love on others and show them what Christ is really like. These terrible events are especially painful, but I think it’s even more difficult to handle because it reminds me how much I fail at that every day.
What can we do to prevent these horrible acts in the future? We could ban guns. We could better assist and treat those who are mentally unstable. There are so many things we could do as far as laws and guidelines go, but I think it all really starts with a basic foundation of love.
I pray for those victims and their families. I pray for healing, forgiveness and restoration in time.
I also pray for myself and my brothers and sisters in Christ around the world, that we don’t let our guards down, that we don’t become complacent in our lives, that we consciously make an effort to be Christ to those who have yet to know him.
It’s funny how upon exploration of my relationship with God, I seemed to lose some of it along the way.
I am working on rebuilding that.
On understanding worship as life instead of a temporary state of being.
On understanding how a life devoted to knowledge can be…

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
